UPGRADE INSTRUCTION

Detail information on upgrading your old installation of Team TimeSheet for Outlook with new version and update.

Upgrade Steps to Team TimeSheet Version 8 (from version 5.X, 6.X, 7.X)

Download the latest setups to your system  from https://www.assistmyteam.net/TeamTimeSheet/download.asp.

Extract the contents of the zip file to a file folder in your system. The downloaded zip file

Shutdown Outlook.
 

bullet

Run 'TeamTimeSheetManagerSetup.exe' (x64 or x86) to install version 8 of Team TimeSheet Manager tool. (no need to uninstall the earlier version 5.x, 6.x, 7.x)

Run 'TeamTimeSheetClientSetup.exe' (x64 or x86) to install version 8 of Team TimeSheet Client tool. (no need to uninstall the earlier version 5.x, 6.x, 7.x)

Start Outlook.

 


Upgrade Steps to Team TimeSheet Version 8.0 (from version 2, 3, 4)

Step 1 - Uninstall previous Team TimeSheet Manager/Client tool from all systems

Step 2 - Install Team TimeSheet Manager setup on pilot/admin system

Step 3 - Upgrade existing timesheet database

Step 4 - Install the new Team TimeSheet Client tool on member's systems.

 

STEP 1: Uninstall previous Team TimeSheet Manager/Client tool from all systems

This is very important step and must be done on all users systems that have the previous Team TimeSheet Manager/Client installed. Because the new Team TimeSheet version is developed using .NET framework, the files are no longer compatible to earlier versions.

To uninstall, first shutdown Outlook. And go to Control Panel > Programs and Features ( for Windows Vista, Windows 7 and 8, 10), or Control Panel >Add/Remove Programs (for Windows XP) and uninstall 'Team TimeSheet Manager' and 'Team TimeSheet Client' of previous versions.

 

STEP 2: Install new Team TimeSheet Manager setup on pilot/admin system

Download the latest setups from https://www.assistmyteam.net/TeamTimeSheet/download.asp to the pilot/admin system. There are two different setups for 32-bit Outlook and 64-bit Outlook

TeamTimeSheetSetups_x86.zip (for 32-bit Outlook 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016)
TeamTimeSheetSetups_x64.zip (for 64-bit Outlook 2010, 2013, 2016)

Make sure each system has .NET framework 4.5 or above installed.

You should download the correct setup type according to your Outlook bit-ness. And then extract the contents of the zip file to a file folder in your system. The downloaded zip file contains the setup.exe for Team TimeSheet Manager and Client tool.

Shutdown Outlook.

Run 'TeamTimeSheetManagerSetup_xXX.msi' (where ‘xXX’ can be either x86 or x64) to install the new Team TimeSheet Manager on the admin system.

 

STEP 3: Upgrade existing TimeSheet/Project database

Your existing timesheet database of previous timesheet version needs to be upgraded to conform with the schema used in the new version database. Fortunately, the process of database upgrade is automated in the new Team TimeSheet. You just need to make sure, you have adequate permissions to create new tables and alter existing ones in your database.

1. For SQL Server database, db_creator or higher rights on the timesheet database 'TeamTimeSheetDB'.

2. For MS Access database, you should have full write permission on the TeamTimeSheet.MDB file

kindly take note of the above rights and permissions before proceeding.

Start Outlook.

The new Team TimeSheet Manager add-in will probe your existing database and would automatically offer to perform the necessary upgrades. It won't proceed further without performing the upgrades.

Click 'OK' to dialog prompt. If the database upgrade had succeeded, the add-in would continue to load the existing projects/activities and other metadata settings from the database.
 

STEP 4: Install Team TimeSheet Client tool on individual user's system.

In the new version, the Client setup exists in two different types - one each for 32-bit Outlook and 64-bit Outlook:

TeamTimeSheetClientSetup_x86.exe (for 32-bit Outlook 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016)
TeamTimeSheetClientSetup_x64.exe (for 64-bit Outlook 2010, 2013, 2016)

Shutdown Outlook.

Uninstall any previous version of Team TimeSheet Client add-in. To uninstall, first shutdown Outlook. And go to Control Panel > Programs and Features ( for Windows Vista, Windows 7 and 8, 10), or Control Panel >Add/Remove Programs (for Windows XP) and uninstall 'Team TimeSheet Client' of previous versions.

Run TeamTimeSheetClientSetup_xXX.esxe to start the installation of the new version Client tool. The installation involves a few clicks and should be over in matter of seconds.

Start Outlook.

Congratulations! Now, you can start using the new Team TimeSheet version.
 

NOTE: Very Important!

You should download the correct setup corresponding to the bit-ness of your Outlook. For instance, if you have 32-bit Outlook, download TeamTimeSheetSetups_x86.zip. If you have 64-bit Outlook 2010 or 2013 or 2016, then download TeamTimeSheetSetups_x64.zip)

For 32-bit Outlook 2010/2013/2016, use TeamTimeSheetSetups_x86.zip
For 64-bit Outlook 2010/2013/2016, use TeamTimeSheetSetups_x64.zip

Your Windows OS bit is not taken account. So, ignore if you have 32-bit or 64-bit Windows. Concentrate on the bit-ness of Microsoft Office and download and install the matching setups.
